Week 6 Updates

Hello 4B Families!

One quick announcement before I let you know what your scholars are learning this week.  I am going to be out of the classroom on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (I already let the students know last Friday).  Mrs. King will be in charge and I will be checking my email in case anyone needs to get a hold of me.

In Language Arts, I am so impressed with how well the research portion of the historical figure project is going!  Everyone has shown a lot of dedication and thoroughness, which will pay off when the students are creating their rough drafts.  By next Monday, the students will be finished with their note cards and they will begin creating an outline from the material they gathered.  Tomorrow, we have our Mr. Bowditch quiz over chapters 9-16.  We spent our class period today going over the correct answers for the study guide, so the students should have all the necessary materials for studying.

In History, we are approaching the end of our American Revolution unit.  As such, we will most likely be having a quiz around mid-week next week.  Today, we learned about the battle at Saratoga and how it was a turning point in the war.  The students also practiced their outlining skills by reading the chapter and telling me the important facts to include.

In Science, we are approaching the end of our circulatory system unit.  There is a test scheduled for Friday, which has a slim possibility of getting pushed to Monday depending on the notes we get through this week.  The students will be getting their study guides tomorrow and we will go over the answers on Wednesday with a review on Thursday.
